Corporate Social Responsibility
According to summit strive
Since our founding, corporate social responsibility (CSR) has been a natural part of our business operations and culture.
As an active investment company, we are at the center of society. We look not only at shareholders, but at all stakeholders around a company. As a result, not only people and their development, but also society as a whole, in addition to making a profit, have a central place in our company. It is our core business, our passion and our responsibility.
Through this policy statement, Summit Strive’s management presents its vision and policy regarding Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). We consider it our duty to comply with the contents of this statement and program and to communicate them unambiguously to our employees, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders.
Definitions
For us, CSR means, “The conscious focusing of corporate activities on long-term value creation in the three dimensions of People, Planet and Profit, combined with a willingness to engage in dialogue with society.”
These 3 P’s (Triple P approach) are reflected within our company and business operations in the four sub-areas: Business Ethics, Employee Development, Sustainability and Social Development.
Business Ethics
By business ethics, Summit Strive means making moral choices in its actions and treating its people, clients and environment in a respectful manner. First, this is reflected in the honest way Summit Strive enters the market. Summit Strive respects laws, regulations and generally applicable standards and values, is attentive to the needs of and transparent in its communications and deal making with customers, suppliers, employees and other stakeholders. Similarly, Summit Strive seeks to promote corporate social responsibility by engaging with supply chain partners on this issue. It also takes into account the effects that its activities have on the social and natural environment and is focused on providing complete and clear information to third parties.
An important place in Summit Strive’s organization is reserved for the topic of quality. Developments in business move at a breakneck pace and it requires top performance to keep up. Because Summit Strive wants to be that elite athlete that runs on top, we continue to train our staff to ensure high quality in the long run. To this end, we have also standardized our procedures and established quality requirements.
All Summit Strive employees are expected to be familiar with the company’s ethical standards and policies and are fully committed to ensuring that the standards of these policies are consistently put into practice in day-to-day operations.
Employee Development
By Employee Development, Summit Strive understands first and foremost the creation of a healthy, good and safe working environment for its employees. We believe that no business activity is so urgent or important that it should be conducted in an unsafe manner. Summit Strive’s goal is to achieve zero absenteeism and be committed to continuous improvement of procedures related to health and safety. It is an ongoing process that requires constant training.
In addition, Summit Strive invests heavily in a relaxed and positive work atmosphere by organizing regular team building outings (at least four times a year), inquiring about and keeping abreast of each employee’s home situation, and maintaining good and clear working conditions. In a positive way, Summit Strive seeks to encourage and engage its employees in work, the company, its relationships and business operations, and share successes achieved. Because many employees work on site, we hold a monthly company meeting to keep staff informed of each other’s activities. In addition, Summit Strive communicates its policies, future plans and any changes in direction in an open and honest manner. All with the goal of creating a unified corporate culture in which our employees can recognize themselves and will feel at home.
Finally, Summit Strive understands Employee Development to mean providing opportunities to its employees by developing both professionally and personally through courses. For example, our consultants are regularly trained and tested in the areas of focus that are important to them, and we have our own training program that provides high-quality training both internally and externally. We also have a so-called diversity policy when it comes to our employees and also provide opportunities for minority groups.
Sustainability
Sustainability is an important concept within Summit Strive’s organization. Thus, we strive to literally be a good neighbor and minimize our impact on the environment. It was only natural that at the time we chose an office location with low congestion and good accessibility by various public transportation options. All activities here are conducted in recognition of Summit Strive’s responsibilities to the natural environment in which we live and work abiding by all applicable local laws, regulations and agreements. Measurements of key environmental impacts such as energy and water consumption and solid waste emissions underscore our approach in preventing environmental damage.
Energy-saving measures such as choosing green electricity where possible, installing insulation and energy-efficient materials, equipment and lighting in the building, and being conscious of our energy resources are a perfect fit. In addition, Summit Strive set up its office environment to enable the new way of working for its employees (think home and telecommuting, flex spaces and extended working hours). We also try to promote sustainability awareness among our staff by encouraging waste separation, conference calls and carpooling to a joint project or client.
Moreover, where possible, we will not fail to choose sustainable alternatives. For example, we look critically at packaging materials and transport carriers and try to minimize or at least reuse our waste or rejected products. Summit Strive also prefers to purchase sustainable (office) materials and services with an environmental or social label and we are a member of CSR Netherlands. By seeking out our employees, associates and suppliers as much as possible in our vicinity and thinking about sustainable alternatives with our supply chain partners, we try to manage our flow of goods and services responsibly.
Social development
In Social Development, Summit Strive focuses on its relationship with its immediate environment and we feel a responsibility to treat the social and natural environment in a conscious manner. For example, we maintain relations with our neighbors by organizing open days, actively contribute to the development of the field and the transfer of knowledge to others who want to learn the trade, and participate in local and regional business associations.
To allow the local community to share in the well-being Summit Strive generates, Summit Strive donates annually to a series of carefully selected charities.
